Knowledge is power
Being a fan of lifelong learning and putting it into action
Last year when I was at my previous gym I had a chat with one of my fellow gym goers. I don’t remember how we got onto courses, but we did. She told me about a website that offered courses and that there might be one that I would be interested in. So I looked into the possibility of studying a Food and Nutrition course. I thought it would be a good idea to gain some more knowledge in this particular area. For me, exercise has become of paramount importance post-Covid, and I thought a food/ nutrition course would add more to my arsenal.
In the new year I did receive confirmation of a place, which I gladly accepted. Then it was time to knuckle down to studying. So in addition to a full-time job, I have been juggling studying. Working out whether it was best to devote certain evenings to it or leave to weekends, or just cobble together what I thought would work. Luckily the course is divided into six units and I had deadlines to work to with each one as assessments had to be completed at the end of each unit.
I completed those units between January and late March. I gave myself the deadline of prior to Easter as I was going away to Cambridge over the long weekend. I knew it was possible. Then just before mid April I got feedback from the college that I had passed all units. However, all of my assessments needed to be checked first prior to my certificate being approved. So the waiting game began. I put it to the back of my mind thinking all would be OK. I was most pleased to see the certificate arrive safely by post.
On reflection, I’m glad that I decided to try this out and dedicate many hours to reading and studying and learning something new. Something that I can use and put into practice, even if just for my own personal interest.
As I say above, I am a fan of lifelong learning. So now that I have gained more knowledge in this area, it is back to revising my Italian ready for an upcoming trip.

Huge congratulations 👏 well done to you 👏 . 🏅 Oh you have an upcoming trip to Italy. Wonderful 🇮🇹💚🤍❤️
